I join cinephiles the world over in mourning the tragic death of the very talented actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was in many, many excellent movies over the years, and he was great in all of them. You can read what several of the film critics over at rogerebert.com have to say about his remarkable career by following this link. I personally believe that his greatest role was playing rock critic Lester Bangs in Almost Famous, and I was especially impressed with the scene in this link, in which Hoffman utters one of the greatest lines in movie history: “The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool.” He will be missed.
